YELLOW GLOVES (THE)

The poster is a graphic creation of Grafikai Technai K. Mouzakis. It is a composition of black-and-white pictures featuring some of the film’s most representative scenes. The greatest part of the poster is taken up by an oval picture of Giannis Gionakis and Nikos Stavridis. N. Stavridis grabs G. Gionakis by the shirt with his right hand, while holding the yellow gloves on his left. Their eyes speak for themselves. The picture is framed by a white festoon. At bottom left, another small, rectangular picture of Maro Kontou holding the telephone receiver in her right hand is inserted. The upper right part of the poster features another rectangular picture of a scene taking place in a room. Martha Vourtsi lays on a bed, while over her stand Mimis Fotopoulos observing her and Pantelis Zervos looking at her kindly. At the doorway, G. Gionakis stares in surprise. Below this photograph, against a blue background, the letters of the title are drawn in yellow: THE YELLOW GLOVES (in capital letters). Below, in smaller white capital letters, on a blue background, appear the names of the leading actors: “Leading Nikos Stavridis, Giannis Gionakis, Mimis Fotopoulos, Maro Kontou and Martha Vourtsi.”. The poster is a balanced photographic collage of some of the film’s most representative scenes, placed on a blue background, like the yellow letters of the title, which in turn match the yellow background, where the scriptwriter-director and producer are recorded. A poster using plain colours (yellow-blue) manages to render the film’s comic style in a simple way (collage).
